Virtù Honest Craft is a farm to table Mediterranean restaurant in Scottsdale. a cozy, intimate courtyard patio with a beautiful olive tree and bistro lights is inviting and creates a wonderful atmosphere for good conversation and great food.
Wherever I go, I seek out healthy food options and I have a soft spot for farm to fork restaurants. When asking around, there were a couple of hotspots that seemed to make everyone’s list, and one was Virtù. I was excited to check it out and was not disappointed.
Atmosphere
Indoor seating is upbeat with bright yellow accents and warm wood. The innovative menu is printed every day and based on what is fresh and acquired from local farms. Interesting flavor combinations, artful presentations and an exciting use of spices make each thing that comes out an anticipation.
Craft Cocktails
To start, I had a Moroccan Spice Margarita and let me tell you–wow! Made with Organic Azuñia Reposado Tequila, this drink was crazy good and unique. The rim, glowing with Moroccan spices, was heavenly. I tried when I came home to recreate it, but could not get close. It would be a fabulous fall drink if I could figure it out. Virtu’s craft cocktail menu is inspired, this is a place where you should have a drink.
The Menu
I am vegetarian (pescatarian when I travel). Most dishes had some sort of animal meat, but they were happy to improvise. Vegetarians and vegans take note–you will find high quality food here. And most of it is organic. The salad was good, as was the entree, but the real star of the meal (aside from the cocktail) was dessert.
Dessert
It was a chocolate cake with ice cream and dulce sauce. The photo does not do it justice. It was decadent and satisfying and the kind of thing that dissolves in your mouth in creamy chocolatey bliss, so rich you only need a couple of bites to get deep satisfaction.
Virtù Bottom Line
I recommend Virtu for a slow-food quality dinner experience. Food is fresh and creative, the ambiance is delightful, particularly alfresco. Be sure to call ahead (480-946-3477) and reserve a table because it gets crowded. Find out more on the Virtù website.
