Situated within the fabulous Denver Union Station, Stoic & Genuine offers fresh sustainably sourced seafood flown in daily and served up beautifully. It’s a gorgeous restaurant with an open kitchen and bar, outdoor seating and innovative menu. It’s beautiful location makes the restaurant all the more enticing.

 

 

Atmosphere

They had my attention before I even walked through the door with their cool sign with an octopus graphic and sea glass fishing floats. But when I walked inside and saw the gigantic octopus mural which takes up the whole wall, I wanted to hang out inside and soak up the surroundings.

 

Food

We stuck with the seafood and had Crab Legs, Lobster and Chowder. About two minutes after the server dropped off our food, half a lobster was gone–my son inhaled it and said it was delicious. I can vouch for the crab legs and cornbread. We like to order a few dishes and share family style so we can try different things. this menu works great for that.

 

 

There are some fun things on the menu like Granitas, Cornbread served in cast iron, and the inclusion of my favorite flavors–Thai Basil and curries.

 

 

A corn on the cob iron skillet with five piping hot pieces of delicious cornbread is only $4! You need these to soak up the flavors of chowders and bisque. We loved the fun, homestyle presentation in this sleek modern setting.

 

Dessert

By the time dessert came, I was pretty full, but did taste the Mint Icecream Bar and Lemon Meringue Pie. Needless to say, my son had no problem eating his dessert.

 

 

Stoic & Genuine Bottom Line

We had a good dinner with fabulous ambiance. We loved our waiter who was engaging as well as the rest of the staff who were attentive.  Stoic & Genuine plays chill-out music, which added to the atmosphere. You can dine alfresco, right in front of the plaza fountain, but the indoor vibe is so cool with that enormous octopus, at least have a drink inside. Learn more on the Stoic & Genuine website HERE.
