Gastown is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Vancouver, especially in the evening during summer. The trees are all lit up with tiny twinkle lights, and it’s magical. It’s wonderful to take a leisurely walk through Gastown then settle down for a great meal. Meet is a vegan restaurant that has excellent cauliflower wings, aka Sweet Chili Cauliflower. They are so good we devoured them and wished we’d ordered two.
We sat at the bar for a while to wait for our table and the inside has a colorful, artful atmosphere. But since the weather was so nice, we wanted to sit outside on the cute patio in the bright red chairs under the bistro lights.
We tried a veggie burger (I think it was the Double Double burger), fries and a salad. My favorite thing besides the cauliflower was the salad. It was deeply colorful and organic and very satisfying. Next time I go I want to try the Portabella Burger instead, this one was made from soy and I didn’t love it, but I was crazy about the coconut bacon that came with it. The fries were kind of soggy so I didn’t care for those, though the Chipotle Mayo they came with was delicious. The restaurant was jam packed, so maybe the fries sat a while before they were served, I’d try them again because I think those were organic too, and hand cut.
I want to go back to Meet just for that cauliflower and atmosphere alone. The staff was super friendly and it just felt so high-vibe and positive in there. The menu had about a dozen items I’d like to try. Every time I saw a plate go by, I was intrigued by delicious looking food. And that it’s made using local and organic ingredients with attention to health makes this one of my top picks for Vancouver.

The cauliflower wings look yummy! Buffalo cauliflower is quite trendy near me. Such a fun vegan dish.
Right? So satisfying!
