Boise has wonderful, locally owned restaurants that serve locally grown food. Fork is one such restaurant, with a fabulous patio with red umbrellas and bistro lights. It’s a great atmosphere perfect for summer dining, and the food is phenomenal.
I loved it so much I went back a second time and tried a different salad. One time we walked, and the second time we biked–Fork has a bike rack right in front of the restaurant.
My first salad was the House Salad, the second is the Boise Chopped Salad. What you see in the photos are half-orders, so you see how generous they are. I love it when restaurants offer half portions so I can try more food. Salad dressings are homemade and delicious. I tried the Buttermilk Basil Pesto, Lemon Tahini Vinaigrette, and Ranch. So good! On both visits, we had their famous Asparagus Fries. It’s hard to write about it without craving these things big time.
I loved everything about Fork. The cozy patio, the nourishing delicious food, and the ultra sweet staff. Farm to Table food is a great way to get to know your destination. It’s a natural connection to eat food that is grown there–it seems strange not to, but we all do it. Fork’s “Loyal to Local” concept utilizes food from northwest farms, bakers, breweries, distilleries and other local food providers. Furniture, and tableware are also sourced locally, crafted from recycled goods. It warms my heart that there are soulful, earthy places like Fork, it’s a Boise must for nourishing food.
