The holidays are here, and if you’re anything like me, you’re ready for cozy nights, festive lights, and… gifting the perfect something to your favorite globetrotters and outdoorsy types! Whether you’re shopping for a wanderlust-filled friend, a seasoned traveler, or just treating yourself (because why not), I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite travel-inspired goodies. So grab a hot cocoa, and let’s dive into holiday cheer—travel style!
Royal Robbins
Royal Robbins hit it out of the park this year with cozy sweaters and fleece. This seaon’s collection is amazing. Check out the Urbanesque Sherpa. It’s an uber plush 1/2 zip with a secret stash pocket perfect for id and credit card making it great travel and outdoor adventures. I love the rich Burnt Grape.
The fabric is butter soft and cuddly, and it’s also super cute with that zig zag stitching around the zipper for detail. There’s an inner lining, so it’s a heavier piece that can function as an outer layer. It comes down over the bum a bit for warmth. Perfect for hiking, apreś ski, or walking the dog.
Made form certified responsible wool, the Rockcraft Crew sweater looks straight out of Iceland. The wool is thick, soft and perfect for travel and outdoors, since it’s moisture wicking and odor resistant. Wool is also great for temperature control. It comes in several colors and looks very expensive. This is the kind of sweater you have for decades.
Lastly, we’ve got the Fair Isle Crew sweater. This one is lighter in weight, soft, made from responsible wool and recycled poly, and comes in yummy colors. It’s so soft and pretty, and it’s nice to have a variety of thickness in your wool pieces. I can’t get enough of the nordic look.
Kari Traa
While we’re on the topic of wool, have you ever worn Kari Traa? I LOVE their stuff, it is so feminine, comfortable, and practical for travel. Every year they have fun new patterns and colors. I’m crazy about their wool base layers. Check out the Edith set. This is super figure flattering and oh so cute! I’m loving the 1/4 zip top and matching bottoms. They are 100% merino wool that’s soft against your skin. That band at the top of the pant gives flattering lines and comfort. This is an awesome gift for your outdoorsy types, travelers, and fans of gorgeous nordic design.
Gregory Quadro Pro 22 Carryon Suitcase
Perfect for gifting and holiday travels, Gregory has updated their Quadro Pro 22 Hardcase Carryon and now it’s even better. They added an integrated Air Tag holder so you can track your luggage with your iPhone. It also has a removable Active Shield Compartment for your laundry or dirty/wet gear, a built in TSA friendly lock, built-in organization, grab handles all over the bag for easily getting it out of the airplane bins
and trunks, beefy YKK zippers for durability, an external handle system for more space inside, and is made with recycled materials including recycled auto glass. The wheels glide smoothly and it’s expandable! I love the option to expand for when you are bringing gifts, coming home with souvenirs, or get in a hurry and just throw all your stuff in to head back home. that’s a whole lot of features and I didn’t even list them all. Kind of the perfect carryon.
Outdoor Research Coze Hooded Down Vest
I’ve been looking for a vest for years to replace a down vest I got way back in 2005. It’s got feathers coming out and the zipper barely works but I love it and have yet to find one that compares. I have other nicer ones, but I always reach for that ratty old vest. The second I put on the new OR Coze Hooded Down Vest I knew I finally found it! This vest rules. They nailed it with this design. The comfort, the figure flattering lines at the waist, the soft fleece lined pockets, the beefy adjustable hood, internal chest pocket, it’s all perfection.
The back comes down slightly over your bum for added warmth. You might want to grab one for yourself while you’re getting them as gifts, this one is sure to please. I love vests because they are so versatile, all you need is a this sweater or fleece to wear under it and it’s a perfect option for moderate weather while it works great under a coat for really cold weather. Find it HERE.
Klean Kanteen
Klean Kanteen makes a great gift because their stuff is a universal necessity and it’s a good way to upgrade someone’s portable food and drink situation. I’ve been using Klean Kanteen for 10+ years and I loved them when I first discovered them, but they’re even better now because they’ve evolved and continue to innovate.
Case in point–the TKWide. They’ve softened the lip so you can comfortably drink without the lid, they’ve improved their leak-proof design, and they’ve come out with gorgeous designs. Look at these 16 oz Tumblers. This is a perfect multi-age, sure thing gift. I frequently have two Kanteens with me–a large one for water and a smaller one with a hot beverage. For me, 16 oz is ideal for a hot beverage like chai or coffee and you can customize the lid with different lid options.
For people who bring their lunch to work or school (or the park, the trail, etc), the TKCanister Insulated Food Containers Set will keep your hot food hot and your cold food cold for hours. I’ve tested these out with hot soups and was able to enjoy hot comforting soup on the go 5 hours after I filled the container. They have a luxe feel to them and would make a wonderful gift.
Tea Runners Tea Subscription
Here is a unique and perfect thing to go along with an insulated tumbler–high end tea. Tea Runners offers a huge variety of teas from all around the world to choose from including organic, herbal and decaffeinated. The teas I’ve sampled are excellent and include flavors like Orange Creme Brûlée Rooibos, Salty Caramel Pumpkin Black, and Red Apple Caramel. You can buy teas individually, but for a gift I am loving the subscription model for roughly $20/month. This way your recipient gets a gift every month in the form of a box with several teas you can pick for them (or let them customize their own). Use promo code TEATIME for 15% off.
Sound+Sleep SE Sound Machine
The Sound+Sleep SE is different from other sound machines. Unlike other “White Noise” machines, it uses naturally recorded, high-definition sounds that constantly evolve and never loop, eliminating all audio repetition. It also has a smart feature. The patented Adaptive Sound technology that enables it to “listen” to your environment and automatically adjust the volume to mask out unwanted noise.
Sounds are called “sound stories” and there are a whole bunch to choose from. They even have a Train Sound Story! My favorites are the Fireplace and Rainfall Sound Stories. Another thing that makes this so unique is that you can layer your sounds for more variation. For instance, your Fireplace Sound Story can include more intense crackles and breaking logs. With Rainfall, you can add thunder. I personally can’t sleep without white noise of some sort, a machine like this is nice to have during the day too to set a mood or block out noise. Especially when there’s construction or something loud going on outside. Find it HERE on their website and HERE on Amazon.
