Patagonia’s new lightweight duffels are perfect to take along on your travels for when you are expecting to come back with souvenirs and extra goods. It’s also great in reverse–you have extras you will not return with. That’s because the duffel packs down small and easily stows away without taking up much space. It’s a tough bag for being so light. The diagonal zip offers easy access and lets you open the bag wide to stuff things in (hence the black hole). There’s inner zip pocket inside the bag doubles as a stuff sack and is accessible from the outside. It’s nice for little things like keys, and smaller things you need to be able to get to easily.
The material feels nice to the touch, it’s a blend of nylon and TPU film laminate with DWR finish to make the duffel water resistant. It has structure when it’s folded out, it’s not one of those kind that just collapses, it holds its shape and is more heavy duty than others in its class.Straps are also comfortable and can be used to carry the duffel like a backpack–this is a handy feature. I love the two beefy grab handles on either end. The 45L is a nice mid-size that offers storage versatility for your adventures. Summer is right around the corner, this duffel would be great for camping and summer vacays. Find the new Patagonia Lightweight Black Hole Duffel HERE.
